Accessibility Statement

IACOB MIHAI-ALBERTO PFA (Romanian fiscal code (CUI) 54802933), which operates Deutsch-Landia, is committed to making the platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement covers deutsch-landia.ro and deutsch-landia.com, in conformance with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard.

Partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

The features below are conformant. Some components — listed in section 4 — are still in progress.

• Skip-to-content link on every page for keyboard users
• Semantic HTML5 structure (header, nav, main, footer) + ARIA landmarks
• Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text on public pages (WCAG 1.4.3), measured at the last evaluation in light and dark mode, on desktop and mobile (section 7)
• Dark mode for reduced eye strain
• Keyboard navigation on public pages: the menu, links and forms work without a mouse, and the focused element is not left hidden under the header or the cookie banner (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.4.11)
• ARIA labels on icon-only buttons ("edit", "delete", etc.)
• German audio for words and phrases — prepared in advance with a studio-quality synthetic voice, with the device’s own synthetic voice as a fallback
• Content scalable to 200% without loss of function (WCAG 1.4.4)
• Honors `prefers-reduced-motion`: movement and zoom animations stop, including the confetti at the end of lessons. The one exception is the decorative carousel on the home page, which has a “Pause the cards animation” button and also stops while the mouse or keyboard focus is on it (WCAG 2.2.2)
• Clear labels on all form fields (auth, profile, contact)
• Descriptive error messages — not color-only (red border + text)

Accessibility relies on the following browser technologies: HTML5, WAI-ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript ES2020+. Works correctly on the last 2 major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

The following items do not yet meet WCAG 2.2 AA:

• Areas behind login (the lesson player, exercises and the dashboard) are verified manually, not yet by the automated scan — an authenticated scan fixture is in progress
• Step changes inside the lesson player are not yet announced to screen readers (WCAG 4.1.3) — in progress
• Target size (WCAG 2.2 SC 2.5.8) is checked automatically on public pages only: there, at the last evaluation, axe-core found no violation, and the links smaller than 24×24 px — for example those in the footer columns, 18–20 px tall — meet the criterion through the standard’s spacing exception. Inside the account, target size is not yet scanned automatically
• Some screens inside the account — exercises, games and the teacher, parent and administrator panels — still carry secondary text below the 4.5:1 threshold; we are fixing them one by one
• Keyboard navigation inside the account (lessons, exercises, games) has not yet been fully verified; controls found to work only with a mouse are turned into real buttons as we find them
• We have not yet carried out a documented test with a real screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack). Page structure and the accessible names of controls are checked automatically, but how they are spoken has not yet been listened to
• Stripe payment flow (external iframe) is Stripe-conformant, but not screen-reader-tested with international AT

We are actively addressing these. Progress is tracked at our quarterly audits.

This statement is based on self-assessment: automated testing with axe-core 4.13 — every WCAG 2.2 AA rule, contrast and target size included — on 21 public pages, in light and dark mode, on desktop and mobile; automated labelling gates and a contrast gate for small text on coloured backgrounds, which run on every code change; and manual keyboard, focus and reflow checks. Last evaluation: 23 September 2026. Testing with real screen readers has not yet been done (section 4). Re-evaluation planned: quarterly.

• Supported browsers: Chrome 120+, Firefox 115+, Safari 17+, Edge 120+
• Screen readers and voice control: we build for NVDA and JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), TalkBack (Android), Dragon and Voice Control, but have not yet tested them on the platform (section 4)
• Native mobile app: not yet available (web responsive works on mobile)
