General German helps you order at a restaurant. Fachsprache helps you run a shift handover, present a technical brief, or negotiate a contract. The difference shows in your first week at work.
Lessons are written with help from domain professionals — a native doctor for Medizin, an engineer for Technik. The words you learn are the ones you will hear the very next day.
At B1 you already know the language structure. Fachsprache adds vocabulary on an existing foundation — not relearned, but extended. A full track in 3-4 months with 20 min/day.
From your first sentence to real conversations, step by step.

These are 10 Fachsprache (specialized German language) tracks starting from B1 level, covering concrete fields: medicine, nursing, IT, law, business, construction, hospitality, transport, education, and engineering. Each track includes the vocabulary, phrases, and real situations from that field. For example, Medizin prepares you with the terms doctors and nurses hear in German hospitals.
We recommend a minimum of B1 before entering a specialization track. At B1 you already know basic grammar, can build coherent sentences, and understand German spoken at normal pace. Specializations add professional vocabulary on a solid foundation — they don't replace the basics. If you're at A1 or A2, start with the general curriculum and reach B1 in roughly 12-18 months with 15-20 minutes a day.
We're working on them now. The specialization lessons are written by native translators with domain experience (for example, Medizin lessons are reviewed by a German-speaking doctor). Progressive launch begins in 2026. You can follow the progress in your dashboard — we show you the one you chose.
Yes. During onboarding you can indicate your professional field, and the system notes it and shows you progress as lessons become available. If you're already working on general B1 or B2, you'll be among the first notified when tracks in your field open.
That's exactly what it was designed for. The vocabulary covers: basic anatomy, clinical procedures, communicating with patients, medical record terminology, ward instructions. We combine it with real situations: how to present a patient at shift handover, how to explain a treatment, how to fill in documents. It's not just a list of medical words — it's the German you hear and use every day.
For any tech job. IT Fachsprache on Deutsch-Landia covers: product and agile terminology (Sprint, Backlog, Pull Request, Deploy), communication in technical meetings, emails and Slack in German, code documentation, technical presentations. It's not oriented toward a specific programming language — it's working German from tech companies in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Each track will contain roughly 30 lessons (from the total of 300 planned specialization lessons, split across 10 fields). Each lesson includes: new vocabulary with native audio, contextual exercises, a real domain situation, and a mini-test. The exact number may grow — the curriculum is active and expanding.
We recommend focusing on one at first — specialized vocabulary is dense and absorbs better when concentrated. If you work in overlapping fields (for example, a medical assistant who also handles admin), you can move to the second track after finishing the first. Your dashboard tracks progress separately per track.
