The tour

German, actually explained.
Not just repeated.

Five minutes a day. One new thing. Get it wrong? You get a hint, not a penalty. Here is exactly what that looks like, screen by screen.

A tour of the platform. It has music, no narration. Everything you see in it is written out below.

Five worlds, from the Schwarzwald to Berlin

Every level has its own place. A1 starts in the Schwarzwald, then come Rothenburg, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. The world around your lessons changes as you climb. And it looks just as good at night.

  1. Schwarzwald — the A1 world, at day
A1SchwarzwaldYour first words, in the forest.
  2. Rothenburg — the A2 world, at day
    A2RothenburgYou start joining sentences.
  3. Hamburg — the B1 world, at day
    B1HamburgYou manage on your own.
  4. München — the B2 world, at day
    B2MünchenYou can talk about anything.
  5. Berlin — the C1 world, at day
    C1BerlinNuance, irony, register.

The guided path is written through A1 so far. Grammar and stories run to B2, vocabulary to C1. The rest is being written, level by level.

What's inside

Five things, each with a job to do.

Lessons — a path, not a list

You start where you are and keep going, one step at a time. Five minutes a day, one new thing. And it teaches it until it sticks: it shows you how, then hands it to you, then checks you've got it.

Grammar — first the rule, then practice on it

We explain the rule plainly, with examples. Right after, you practice exactly what you just read. No leaps, and no "you should already know this".

Vocabulary — words that don't slip away

Every word comes back right before you'd have forgotten it. Tap any German word, anywhere, and hear it spoken. And if it's a verb, open it and you'll see every form, not just the infinitive.

Stories — read something you won't want to put down

Pick the story that fits your level. Trip over a word, tap it, the meaning appears beside it and you read on.

Games — play, and learn anyway

Learn by playing, and challenge your friends. Memory, crosswords, grammar duels.

If you teach German to a class

See where every pupil stands, without collecting the picture on paper yourself.

  • Your classes, teachers and pupils in one panel.

Create the class and assign its teacher from the same screen.

  • Pupils under 18 get no public leaderboards and no friend requests.

They're closed by construction, not by a setting someone can flip.

  • Your seats, in plain sight.

How many are used out of how many you contracted, and the date your contract runs to.

  • When the collaboration ends, the account stays with the child.

It reverts to the free version and keeps everything they built: progress, points, streak. The school loses access, the child loses nothing.

No appointment, no obligation. Teacher accounts are never charged.

Questions

Do I need a card to start?

No. Create an account and go. What's free stays free.

What does it cost?

The free part stays free, no card. If you want everything it's a subscription. The price is on the plans page, and you can see it without an account.

What level can I start at?

Zero, if that's where you are. If you already know some German, a short test puts you at the right level.

How far does it go?

A1 to C1, across five levels. C2 isn't on the platform yet.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, and it's built for the phone first. It works just as well in a browser on a desktop.

What age is it for?

Any age. Children, teenagers, adults: the lessons are just as short and just as clear for all of them.

How does it work for a school?

The school creates its pupils’ accounts, adds teachers who already have an account with us, and sees its classes, teachers and seats used in one panel. Pricing is per seat, and details are on the schools page.

Start with five minutes

One new thing a day. That is all it asks.

No card. No account, if you only want a look.
