Correlative conjunctions (zweiteilige Konjunktionen) connect parallel elements in sentences. B2: sowohl...als auch, weder...noch, entweder...oder, nicht nur...sondern auch, je...desto/umso, zwar...aber, einerseits...andererseits — verb agreement rules and word order.
How the rule begins
Zweiteilige Konjunktionen work in pairs: the first part introduces the first element, the second part introduces the second. They join main clauses or parallel noun and adverb phrases, and they are frequent in formal written German and in careful speech.
