Relative clauses can be replaced by extended participial attributes. This construction is typical of B2 written German: formal, compact and precise.
How the rule begins
At B2 level you will often come across long attributive constructions in newspaper articles, academic texts and official documents, such as "das von der Regierung kürzlich beschlossene Gesetz".
